How is total work experience calculated?
Each stint is converted to a day count, overlapping ranges are merged into a single timeline, and the merged total is expressed as years, completed months and remaining days.
Do internships and part-time jobs count?
Internships after graduation usually count; pre-graduation internships generally do not. Part-time and contract roles count for the time actually worked. Be explicit on your CV about which is which.
Should I round up my experience on my CV?
No. Background verification reconciles your stated experience against employer records, and a mismatch is one of the most common flags. State the exact period.
